Russian military forces used an air-to-surface strategic cruise missile of the Kh-101 system with a tandem high-explosive fragmentation warhead weighing 800 - 850 kg. The projectile confidently collapsed a bridge across the river, reports the Telegram channel @RussianArms.
The destruction of the water crossing was recorded by optoelectronic reconnaissance drones and ZALA 421-16E HD.
It is known that the design of tandem warheads with sequential initiation for modernized Kh-101 missiles provides for simultaneous equipping with both high-explosive fragmentation and/or cluster, as well as thermobaric or pulsed electromagnetic microwave equipment.
Strikes by this missile will ensure the destruction of trains with armored vehicles, tactical aviation at airbases and highways, as well as disabling AN/MPQ-53/65A multifunctional radar stations of the Patriot PAC-2/3 complexes
Tactical and technical characteristics of the Kh-101 missile:
- Maximum range — 5.5 thousand km
- Maximum speed - 250-270 m/s
- Launch weight — 2240 - 2400 kg
- Length - 7.45 m
- Possibility of changing the target in flight
Earlier, Defence Express reported that even if the enemy intercepts the Kh-101, the contents of the cluster munition fall out and strikes the target over a large area.
