В Санкт-Петербурге разработали систему быстрого обнаружения ЧС на основе ИИ

The invention can be used in industry and the social sphere

Scientists at the St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications named after prof. M. A. Bonch-Bruevich (SPbSUT) have created a system for rapid detection of emergency situations (ES) with integrated artificial intelligence (AI). This was announced by Vladimir Timchenko, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of SPbSUT, at the "Engineering Assembly of Russia - 2024" in St. Petersburg.

According to him, the new invention can be used in various types of industry, including defense and social spheres. The system is based on AI and allows simulating the capabilities of human vision.

"Computer vision" is the image that we see on the screens of the surveillance and security system. And our system, using this image, immediately detects any abnormal situation, depending on the algorithm, and reports the incident either to the housing and communal services, if we are talking about an apartment building, or to the personal phone of the person using the development.

The new emergency detection system with built-in AI has been tested and successfully implemented by the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Television.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that scientists from Sevastopol are developing a high-precision system for underwater autonomous navigation.
