The latest amphibious armored personnel carrier BT-3F is entering the stage of state tests. This was reported by the press service of Rostec.
The developer of the new product is Kurganmashzavod (part of the High-Precision Complexes holding). During the tests, the product must confirm the specified tactical and technical characteristics in water and on land in various climatic zones, as well as pass firing tests, both on the move and from a stationary position.
BT-3F is based on the BMP-3F infantry fighting vehicle. The new armored personnel carrier received a 12.7-mm gun and is capable of transporting 12 paratroopers in full gear, as well as two crew members. In addition, there are two additional machine guns, from which paratroopers or a mechanic-driver can fire. The sighting system includes a laser rangefinder and a thermal imaging sight.
The vehicle has the technical capability to install any remotely controlled combat module suitable in weight. The armored personnel carrier is also equipped with a towing device for towing trailers.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the Russian Armed Forces received a new batch of BMP-3s with "covers" from thermal imagers. They are made of synthetic fire-resistant material and make it difficult to detect equipment using observation devices.
