Russian military personnel have developed a unique Perun strike-transport drone. The UAV is capable of delivering heavy cargo, conducting reconnaissance and search and rescue operations, and dropping paratroopers into the enemy's rear, the Russian Ministry of Defense said.
The press service of the defense department added that Perun operates on domestic software. The drone can carry cargo weighing up to 200 kg.
In one go, Perun is capable of delivering the amount of food that previously required at least 13 FPV drone sorties.
The department also showed a video of the drone's tests at the training ground.
The published footage shows that an ATGM with a guided missile was installed on the Perun to destroy tanks and other armored targets. Military personnel fired from the ground, and then in the air. The missile was adjusted from a remote control. In addition, the drone was tested as a vehicle for landing a soldier.
It is known that the developers want to test firing a machine gun and a launcher for launching unguided aircraft missiles on the Perun to destroy aircraft. It is expected that the multifunctional UAV will find application in various units of the Russian army.
Earlier www1.ru already wrote about Perun and published footage from the test landing.
