Izhevsk Mechanical Plant (JSC "IMZ", part of the Kalashnikov concern) has come up with a way to optimize its technological processes. The company has placed equipment related to the production of powder metallurgy products in one building of the procurement and metallurgical production division. This accelerated technological processes and reduced the movement of employees and products by 30%.
More than 10 units of equipment were transferred: cone mixers for preparing metal powder, mechanical automatic presses, continuous furnaces for sintering powder blanks.
The implemented changes allowed us to speed up technological processes by 10% and expand the capabilities of powder metallurgy at the plant. The site is 10% loaded, so the company is ready to accept external orders for powder metallurgy products.
Such products are used for the production of medium and lightly loaded parts operating without shock loads. For example, in the optimized area, the nomenclature includes 50 parts for pistol production and special equipment. This satisfies the company's own needs.
