Russian "Veresk" and "Gyurza" received cartridges with a bullet of increased penetrating power

TsNIITOCHMASH has fully fulfilled the state contract

TsNIITOCHMASH, as part of the Kalashnikov concern, has completed the execution of a state contract for the supply of a batch of 7N29 pistol cartridges of 9×21 mm caliber with a bullet of increased penetrating power to the customer.

The cartridge is used in the SR1MP "Gyurza" pistol and the SR2M "Veresk" submachine gun. And in general, as manufacturers note, it is the main Russian armor-piercing ammunition in its caliber.

Thanks to the steel heat-strengthened cylindrical core, which protrudes from the bimetallic shell, the tactical capabilities of small arms and their combat effectiveness are significantly expanded. The 7N29 cartridge (bullet weight - 6.7 g, initial velocity - 410 m/s) provides high accuracy of fire, as well as powerful penetrating effect when hitting living targets and natural obstacles at ranges up to 200 m and SIBZ [personal protective equipment, - ed.] of the second level at a distance of up to 50 m.
Press service of the Kalashnikov concern

The 7N29 ammunition was created by TsNIITOCHMASH in 1991, and it is constantly being modernized. There are no other developers and manufacturers of 7N29.

Earlier it became known that the Russian "defense industry" increased ammunition production by 14 times in two years. Other indicators related to the production of military equipment are also not lagging behind. Thus, the production of UAVs has increased 4 times during this time, and armored weapons - 3.5 times.
