TsNIITOCHMASH, as part of the Kalashnikov concern, has completed the state contract for the supply of a batch of 7N29 9x21 mm pistol cartridges with enhanced penetration bullets to the customer.
The cartridge is used in the SR1MP "Gyurza" pistol and the SR2M "Veresk" submachine gun. And in general, as the manufacturers note, it is the main Russian armor-piercing ammunition in its caliber.
Thanks to the steel, heat-strengthened cylindrical core, which protrudes from the bimetallic jacket, the tactical capabilities of small arms and their combat effectiveness are significantly expanded. The 7N29 cartridge (bullet weight - 6.7 g, initial velocity - 410 m/s) provides high accuracy of fire, as well as powerful penetrating action when engaging live targets and natural obstacles at ranges up to 200 m and SIBZ [personal protective equipment, - ed.] of the second level at a distance of up to 50 m.
The 7N29 ammunition was created by TsNIITOCHMASH in 1991, and it is constantly being modernized. There are no other developers and manufacturers of the 7N29.
Earlier it became known that the Russian "defense industry" increased ammunition production by 14 times in two years. Other indicators related to the production of military equipment are also keeping pace. Thus, the production of UAVs has increased 4 times during this time, and armored weapons - 3.5 times.
