The effectiveness of high-precision weapons manufactured in the USA has decreased due to the operation of Russian electronic warfare (EW) systems. This concerns munitions fired from the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) and Excalibur guided projectiles, journalist Christoph Wanner stated on the German TV channel Welt.
The Russians have made great progress in the field of electronic warfare, and they can jam American satellite-guided munitions so much that they lose their effectiveness.
Information about the ineffectiveness of Excalibur projectiles and HIMARS munitions was confirmed by The Military Watch Magazine. According to the publication, Russian EW systems also affect high-precision guided bombs JDAM. Due to interference, the accuracy of the projectiles has decreased, and they miss the target by a distance of 200 m to 1.2 km.
Russian electronic warfare systems have also seriously disrupted the capabilities of the Starlink satellite internet provided by the Pentagon.
Starlink was also used by Western military personnel to coordinate actions, collect intelligence, and launch drones. The publication pointed out that against this background, questions arose for the creators of Starlink. Apparently, the satellite communication system is not as reliable as the developers say, the journalists summarized.
