"Open Mobile Platform" announces the start of sales of domestic gadgets based on the "Aurora" OS 5th generation, which was shown in December. Smartphones, laptops, and tablets with the Russian application store RuStore pre-installed, which includes games and applications from developers from more than 40 countries, can be purchased from May 27.
The characteristics of the "Aurora" OS 5th generation have been enhanced to become the basis for building a national mobile environment. This includes:
- a new graphical interface and user experience, both on the smartphone screen and on the large tablet screen. The product has a specially designed tablet interface;
- a platform for integration with national IT products, such as the national application store RuStore;
- advanced tools and SDK for implementing a new generation of native ecosystem applications;
- new security mechanisms to ensure trust in applications;
- a new generation of devices for office use and the ability to work in multitasking mode for office employees.
OMP plans to transfer all its customers to the new generation of "Aurora" OS, expand the catalog of applications on the OS in the official application store RuStore. Next, sales will start in retail under the BYOTD model, already with the "Aurora 5.1" version.
OS "Aurora"
A Russian mobile operating system designed for users from large companies and government agencies who need to minimize the risk of data leaks. "Open Mobile Platform" has been working on this project since 2016.
User data and their transmission channels are encrypted, and each device is managed through a separate "Aurora Center". All information is stored on its servers, not on the device. In case of theft or loss, any information can be quickly remotely erased from the device.
The OS meets all the requirements of regulators in the field of national security and information protection and has regularly updated FSB and FSTEC certificates. In 2023, "Aurora" moved from corporations and government agencies to the ordinary consumer market: devices with it became available for purchase in stores.
The data storage system of the "Aurora" OS remains closed for private ordinary customers. This means that an ordinary user cannot immediately connect to the "Aurora Center", which stores all information on its servers. This can only be done upon request, but other and faster and more secure connection mechanisms are being developed.
