The automaker VGV from China may start assembling cars in Russia. This was stated by the head of sales and marketing of the company "Motor-place" Maxim Zheleznyak.
Among the advantages of localization for a Chinese company is reducing the cost of car production, in addition, the authorities may provide VGV with benefits. According to Zheleznyak, the automaker has not yet made a final decision.
Recall that VGV intends to sell U70 Pro and U75 Plus crossovers on the Russian market. The younger model is equipped with a 1.5-liter engine with a capacity of 143 horsepower and a 6-speed automatic transmission, the older one with a 2-liter engine with 199 horsepower and an 8-speed automatic transmission. Drive is only front-wheel drive.
The cars are produced in Belarus. The start of sales is promised in mid-June. Prices are as follows: the younger model starts from 2.1 million rubles, the U75 Plus starts from 2.75 million.
