Russians should be given the opportunity to present a document using the Gosuslugi mobile application when passing through passport control at airports on domestic flights. This proposal was made to the Ministry of Digital Development by the Vice-Speaker of the State Duma, Vladislav Davankov.
The deputy proposed allowing citizens to show the digital version of the document in three additional cases: when checking driver's licenses by traffic police officers, when passing through passport control and crossing the state border, and when required by law enforcement officers.
The deputy recalled that in October 2023, the Ministry of Digital Development had already developed a draft according to which citizens in some cases will be allowed to present a digital version of their passport instead of a paper one, but there are no options mentioned above.
