Reshetnev employees are working on a new project commissioned by Roscosmos related to the construction of spacecraft. Together with the Reshetnev Siberian State University of Science and Technology, they are creating a domestic technology for high-precision non-contact measurement of geometric parameters of objects at low and high temperatures and in a vacuum.
The new development is a measuring instrument installed outside a thermal vacuum chamber, which uses a laser beam through a window to determine the coordinates of points on the object's surface. The comprehensive software being developed as part of the project allows processing the obtained measurement information and determining geometric parameters at temperatures from – 140 to + 140°C, including changes in shape up to several tens of microns.
This device will allow for a more accurate determination of how well the elements of spacecraft meet the high requirements for thermal stability. For example, antenna reflectors. It can be installed in thermal vacuum chambers of any type and size.
