T-72 tanks with enhanced "hedgehog"-type protection have appeared in the Russian army. Metal mesh structures protect against enemy FPV drones. In addition, mine-clearing equipment is placed in the front of the tank to overcome minefields.
The military personnel noted the effectiveness of such anti-drone and anti-mine protection. Similar protection systems are being installed on the BMP-1.
The West has repeatedly discussed Russian modernized combat vehicles. German journalist Julian Röpke pointed out that the so-called "barbecue grills" are very effective against drones. Drones drop explosives, but they do not reach the target, exploding without damaging the armor of tanks and infantry fighting vehicles.
