The Ulyanovsk company "Avtodom" showed at the exhibition "Expotechnostrazh-2024" a Russian-assembled Citroen C5 Aircross as a special vehicle for the Military Automobile Inspection (VAI).
The hood of the car sports the inscription "VAI", the sides have blue stripes with the inscription "military police", and the roof has special signals. Under the hood of the Citroen C5 Aircross is a 1.6-liter gasoline turbo engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Recall that in February 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade expanded the list of foreign cars that can be purchased for official purposes. In addition to "Chinese cars," European models were included, including the Citroën C5 Aircross.
This model began to be mass-produced again in Russia from car kits brought from China. Its sales are promised to begin in May. The estimated cost is 4.3 million rubles.
