Roscosmos will have a new source of funding for innovative space programs and projects — advertising on space infrastructure facilities.
The corresponding bill was submitted to the State Duma at the initiative of a number of deputies and senators. It proposes amendments to the Federal Law "On the State Corporation for Space Activities Roscosmos" and has already passed the first reading.
The law will allow the State Corporation to actively conduct advertising campaigns, including the installation and operation of outdoor advertising on space infrastructure facilities and the placement of advertising on space equipment. Conducting advertising campaigns should help popularize space activities and attract young personnel to the space industry. In addition, the resulting income will be directed to the development of innovative space programs and projects.
If the law is adopted, the state corporation will be able to conclude agreements for the placement of advertising on space equipment, space infrastructure facilities, as well as on those federal property facilities that Roscosmos manages on behalf of the state.
Thus, such advertising will bring additional income not only to the space industry, but also to the federal budget. The determination of the amount of payment and the terms of such advertising agreements are assigned to the Russian government.
