The Central Bank has certified an ATM with a bill authenticity detection module that runs on Russian software. The software developer is Goznak. With its help, the regulator will solve the problem of accepting new-style funds after the departure of Western ATM manufacturers from the Russian market, including American NCR and Diebold Nixtorf.
Currently, the module can be installed on the MoniMax ATM from the Korean company Hyosong and devices from Saga Technologies (included in the register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade). These ATMs will be able to accept banknotes with a face value of 100 rubles and 5 thousand rubles.
Foreign ATM manufacturers left Russia in 2022 due to the introduction of international sanctions. At that time, there were about 173 thousand devices for receiving and dispensing money in the country. Goznak hopes that they will be able to update the software on more than 60% of ATMs.
