The Russian company Meteor Auto has relaunched the production of industrial spark plugs. They are used in gas piston units and industrial engines. Production has been established at the former Robert Bosch Saratov plant, where Bosch spark plugs were previously manufactured. The company is located in the city of Engels and has the commercial name Engels Spark Plugs LLC.
The company intends to achieve maximum equipment utilization in the next two years and ensure full coverage of the Russian market needs
According to the CEO of the company, the Russian market needs about 50 thousand industrial spark plugs per year. He added that Meteor Auto is "one of three companies in the world" that produce such products.
The company's spark plugs have an M18 thread. They can be used on any type of stationary gas engine and with different gas fuels. An iridium alloy is applied to the electrodes of the spark plugs, guaranteeing their long service life.
Gas piston mechanisms and systems in which industrial spark plugs are used are in demand, for example, as small power plants where there are no main power grids, or as backup power sources in medical institutions, data centers, shopping complexes and other facilities. In addition, industrial spark plugs are used in gas generator systems, where a powerful gas engine is used to drive a compressor that pumps gas through main gas pipelines.
It is worth recalling that the German concern Bosch agreed to sell its assets to Russians only on the condition that the trademark was changed. The deal was concluded in June 2023. The production site was named Engels Spark Plugs LLC. It is part of the S8 Capital holding. The first Meteor trademark was introduced in September 2023.
The restart of production under other brands became necessary after the departure of foreign companies from Russia. Earlier www1.ru wrote about how the production of Ikon Tyres, which were previously produced under the Nokian brand, has been налажен.
