Russia has new complexes to protect objects from enemy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) called "Stupor" with artificial intelligence (AI). They suppress drones that threaten the security of objects in the fuel and energy complex, industry, and infrastructure.
The developers from the eponymous LLC "Stupor" have assembled a complex from their own complementary detection systems. These include a radar station, a radio frequency scanner, an optical drone recognition station, jamming equipment, and a coordinate spoofing complex. Each device at different levels protects the entrusted object from terrorist attacks, state or industrial espionage.
In particular, as Vladislav Kustarev, development director of the developing company, told RIA "Novosti", the complexes called "Stupor Storm" and "Stupor Shtil" detect and capture a target at a distance of up to five kilometers. And the "Pars" protection device suppresses drones in two ways: through a "dome" with a 360-degree pattern and a narrow beam of directed action at a distance of up to two kilometers.
All components of the complex are the manufacturer's own internal development, as is the software for "Stupor".
The software complex incorporates artificial intelligence, allowing "Stupor" to operate without the help of a complex operator. Reporting and archival information about events can be uploaded directly to the phone. In addition, it is possible to integrate detection and counteraction means from other manufacturers into our system.
As an additional advantage of the system, its ability to work at night can be noted. This is precisely when drone visits with security threats are most frequent.
"Stupor" is not the only such development for protecting infrastructure and enterprises in Russia.
In particular, the anti-drone complex of the subsidiary research institute "Roselectronika" "Vector" under the name "Serp-VS5D" has already shown that it is capable of repelling attacks on energy infrastructure facilities. The complex is constantly being modernized, and a version of "Serp" is being developed for the protection of marine vessels and platforms.
Together with the radio monitoring module, which helps to determine the location of the drone operator, the latest version of the "Serp-VS6" complex constitutes the "Zashchita" UAV counteraction system. It has already been highly appreciated on the international stage, and it has acquired a number of interested parties from Africa and other countries.
