Rostselmash has launched a plant for the production of transmissions, axles, and gearboxes.
The enterprise in Rostov-on-Don will help to produce dozens of tractors, combines, and various road construction equipment faster. The company had been preparing for the full launch for five years, three of which fell on the era of sanctions and the pandemic. However, they gradually coped with the help of the regional government and the Industrial Development Fund.
The total cost of the project exceeds 10 billion rubles, of which more than 4.7 billion rubles were allocated to the organization of the production of shafts and gears.
The Rostselmash transmission plant occupies industrial sites of 70 thousand square meters. More than 100 units of technological, control and measuring, and laboratory equipment are installed on them, and the delivery of about 20 more units is expected. Taking into account the development plans of the enterprise, more than 120 units of equipment will be purchased additionally. At the same time, the planned degree of automation of production processes will be 75%.
Currently, at the first stage of the enterprise's operation, it will produce components in quantities sufficient to produce about 3,700 tractors of all series.
In the second stage, by 2026, the plant will master the production of automatic transmissions for tractors and road construction equipment, expand the range of axle kits and gear parts for combines, and add other products to the range of products.
The number of employees will also increase. Today, the company employs 380 people, but taking into account the development program, the team involved in the production of axles and transmissions for all types of equipment will be up to 1,500 people.
