Robot cats have appeared in Moscow supermarkets. One of them was filmed in the Perekrestok supermarket in the Metropolis shopping center. Automated assistants greet customers and offer them promotional items, making the work of store personnel easier.
The robot cat moves around the trading floor, avoiding obstacles with the help of built-in 3D sensors. When the robot's battery is low, it automatically goes to recharge, and then returns to work.
According to Evgeny Babaev, a representative of X5 Group, this robot initially functioned as a waiter, and later a version was created for retail.
Models of this format are used in China and in some stores in Russia
He emphasized that the robot cat performs the function of an additional shelf, and also entertains visitors. A robot cleaner works together with the robot cat, which uses special brushes to monitor cleanliness in the trading floor. Each of the automated assistants is assigned an employee who monitors their work, Babaev summarized.
In November, a pilot project involving robot cats was launched in two metropolitan medical institutions . They began to help patients and staff at the Vorokhobov City Clinical Hospital No. 67, the Sklifosovsky Research Institute and the Filatov City Clinical Hospital No. 15.
