The All-Russian Scientific Research Institute "Signal" (part of the "High-Precision Complexes" holding) has developed a hardware and software complex (PAC) for the robotization of the infantry fighting vehicle "Prometheus". The equipment is currently undergoing a full cycle of testing.
"Prometheus" is designed for installation on any serial model of military equipment. For example, on the BMP-3, it allows you to robotize the functions of the driver-mechanic and gunner. At the same time, the PAC does not affect the ergonomics of the cabin - the standard seats for the crew remain inside.
The BMP-3 equipped with the "Prometheus" PAC can:
- transport military personnel
- conduct combat
- provide fire support
VNIISignal has been creating automated equipment control systems since 1954. The main focus of the institute is the development of guidance and fire control systems for self-propelled vehicles and rocket artillery.
Earlier, the Vector Research Institute developed the complex Penicillin sound-thermal artillery reconnaissance system, which recognizes targets and confirms their destruction.
