Smart devices for the home - lighting, motion, leak and smoke detectors - have also become more attractive to buy over the year. Technology controlled by voice or from a smartphone has also become more popular.
Sales increased the most over the year:
- temperature and humidity sensors - by 88%;
- smart sockets - by 52%;
- smart home control centers - by 35%;
- smart kettles - by 34%;
- smart lighting devices - lamps and luminaires - by 14%.
Smart speakers showed the maximum increase in popularity among buyers, whose sales in 2023 increased by 2.3 times. MegaFon notes that, according to surveys, they were in the top 3 most desired gifts for the holidays, along with a smartphone and a smartwatch.
In general, in 2023, residents of Moscow and the Moscow region most actively bought smart home products - in the capital region, demand for them increased one and a half times over the year. St. Petersburg, the Nizhny Novgorod region, the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Novosibirsk region were also in the top 5 regions where these products were most often purchased.
