Vending machines for plastic bottles and aluminum cans from "RT-Invest" collected 520 thousand pieces of waste in the Moscow region during the New Year holidays. This is twice as much as last year during the festive holidays - eco-points are becoming increasingly popular among residents of the Moscow region.
In 2023, vending machines in the Moscow region accepted 5.1 million plastic bottles and 2.4 million aluminum cans. 7.5 million units of packaging resulted in 200 tons of recycled resources for the production of dishes, furniture, clothing, shoes and car parts.
"RT-Invest" is a "daughter" of "Rostec", which was the first in Russia to begin implementing a comprehensive waste management and maximum recycling system. The company is currently building five large facilities - plants for converting waste into electricity. Four of them - in the Moscow region - will open in 2024, the fifth - in Tatarstan - in 2025.
The Moscow region plants will process 2.8 million tons of waste per year with a capacity of 280 MW. The plant in Tatarstan will destroy 550 thousand tons of waste per year and help generate a capacity of 55 MW.
The level of localization of plant equipment exceeds 60%, all plant projects have passed ten Russian and two independent international examinations. All conclusions confirmed their environmental safety.
