Новый комплекс РЭБ «Сания» замечен на танке Т-80БВМ

The use of advanced technologies of the complex provides comprehensive protection and automated combat operation

The Russian T-80BVM tank has been equipped with a new electronic warfare (EW) system called "Saniya." Developed by the company "3mx," this multi-band dome complex has confirmed its high potential during tests conducted at the end of 2023.

The "Saniya" complex is capable of detecting enemy drones, including compact FPV drones and miniature commercial UAV models, at a distance of about 1.5 kilometers. In addition, it blocks their operation or disables them at a distance of 1 kilometer or less, covering all directions from the protected armored vehicle.

The uniqueness of "Saniya" lies in the fact that the tank crew does not need to learn how to operate a new device – all the work of the complex is fully automated. The tank crew only needs to turn on the start button, and the system independently provides power and combats drones.

The complex can operate around the clock. The jammer is activated only when FPV drones are detected and automatically turns off when the detector stops detecting FPV drone signals.

The complex, depending on the needs, can be presented in two versions: stationary and mobile. "Saniya" is powered from a standard 220V network or through an inverter.

In the stationary version, "Saniya" can be installed on a tripod or bracket, providing effective protection in a fixed position.

While in the mobile version, "Saniya" is mounted on a vehicle, such as a tank, car, or armored personnel carrier. This allows the complex to provide protection against FPV drones even in motion, which significantly expands its applicability on the battlefield.

Videos of T-80BVM tests, presented by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on January 14, 2024, demonstrate the complex on a standard "barbecue" with fairly compact equipment.

One of the significant advantages is the strength of the antennas, which can withstand contact with tree branches in the forest belt. The problem of attaching the device to the tank has also been solved: the design is designed for vibration and strong shocks during movement and gunshots. All equipment is compact in size, which further improves the maneuverability of the tank.

The developers of the EW complex announced in October 2023 that after the completion of tests at the end of 2023, "Saniya" will be launched into mass production.

In conditions where FPV drones are becoming a widespread weapon on the line of combat contact, combat complexes such as "Saniya," "Triton" and ORK-M1 are becoming in-demand EW assets.
