Russian military personnel have tested the Triton FPV drone suppression system (drones equipped with a camera that transmits data to the operator in real time - editor's note www1.ru), developed by specialists from the St. Petersburg company "PPSh Laboratory." This was announced by the head of the company, Denis Oslomenko.
According to him, the drone protection system (related to electronic warfare, EW) has been tested on Tigr and Typhoon armored vehicles. Now its operation has been tested on tanks.
The developers had to modify the design of the Triton so that it could be placed on top of military equipment. This is how the device can create a dome of protection against drones, Oslomenko explained. If this condition is met, the protection diameter is 300 m.
It is noted that the configuration of the Triton can be changed, including additional modules in the basic kit to suppress drones controlled at new frequencies.
The standard set of the FPV drone suppression system includes modules that jam aircraft in four ranges. The complex operates from a battery or from the on-board network of military equipment.
Earlier it was reported that specialists from NPO Kaisant have developed a gun against drones, the radius of destruction of which is 1.5 km. The jammer suppresses up to 90% of all drones.
