Iranian engineers have developed the Shahed-107 strike and reconnaissance drone for Russia, a source at British TV channel Sky News said. According to him, the drone belongs to the Shahed-101 family and has a V-shaped tail.
The Shahed-107 is 2.5 m long and has a wingspan of 3 m. The flight range of the drone, which can be launched from a vehicle, is about 1.5 thousand km.
According to a Sky News source, the drone is supposedly equipped with technology to search for important targets, such as Western-style MLRS. It is specified that Iranian specialists have already shown their Russian colleagues the capabilities of the new drone. It is about a possible deal.
Western countries have repeatedly accused Iran of supplying Russia with Shahed-type kamikaze drones. Tehran explained that the deliveries were carried out before February 2022. According to Western media, the Shahed drones have been renamed Geran-1 and Geran-2 in Russia.
It was previously reported that the UAC plans to open a new direction for the assembly of military drones.
