In addition, it is important to establish the production of cars with promising power plants - electric, hybrid, hydrogen, said Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with members of the government.

The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, who was present at the meeting, said that last year car production in the country increased by 16%. In total, more than 720 thousand cars rolled off the assembly line.
Government support programs contributed to the recovery of demand for cars. About 16 billion rubles were allocated for preferential leasing and car loans (62 thousand cars were purchased with their help).
Manturov promised that the authorities would support the development of environmentally friendly transport - electric vehicles and hybrids. He called localization and scaling of his own component base another important aspect of the Russian automotive industry.
Earlier it was reported that the enterprise "Belkommunmash" and the Hydrogen Technology Center, which is part of AFC "Sistema", are developing a bus with a hydrogen power plant.
