The cruise ship "Pyotr Velikiy", which is under construction in Astrakhan, will receive a new name. The ship will be named in honor of the founder of the LDPR party, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, who died in April 2022.
The construction of the vessel took almost seven years, and now the shipbuilders are preparing to transfer it to "Mosturflot". The company organizes cruises on the Caspian, Azov and Black Seas, as well as on the Volga.
The liner "Pyotr Velikiy" is being built at the "Lotos" plant of the Southern Shipbuilding Center as part of the PV300VD project. For Astrakhan, this is the first cruise ship under construction in the last 60 years.
A wheeled passenger ship "Aurum" is also being built here. According to the UAC, it will be launched on the route between Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod in the summer of this year.
