The number of nuclear submarine cruisers built by Russia under the modernized Project 955A Borei-A will soon increase. By the end of 2024, the Knyaz Pozharsky missile carrier should join the Northern Fleet.
As a source in the military-industrial complex told IA TASS, the Sevmash strategic cruiser will be removed from the slipway at the end of January. The USC has not yet officially denied this information.
The modernized Project 955A Borei-A is a submarine equipped with modern missile and torpedo weapons, radio-technical, hydroacoustic weapons and navigation systems. It carries sixteen Bulava sea-based intercontinental ballistic missiles. Each such three-stage nuclear missile weighs 36.8 tons. It is able to accurately reach a target within 8 thousand kilometers. At a greater range, it can give a probable deviation from the target of 120-350 meters.
The Russian Navy already includes nuclear submarine cruisers built under this modernized project "Emperor Alexander III", "Generalissimo Suvorov" and "Knyaz Oleg". Three of the same nuclear submarine cruisers are in varying degrees of readiness.
