The self-propelled artillery unit (SPG) "Msta-S" will be modernized, the howitzer's turret protection will be enhanced. This was reported by a source in the Russian defense industry.
According to the source, engineers will take into account the methods used by the enemy to fight against the "Msta-S".

- Rapid deployment and withdrawal from position
The 2S19 "Msta-S" with a caliber of 155 mm is a development of the Ural Transport Engineering Plant. The howitzer fires high-explosive fragmentation projectiles and cluster projectiles with fragmentation combat elements.
Earlier, the Russian military received a batch of modernized "Msta-S" M1 and "Msta-S" M2 SPGs.
