The Coast Guard of the Border Service of the FSB of Russia has been replenished: this is the border patrol ship of the second rank "Ufa" of Project 22120 ("Purga"). It became the tenth ship in its series and the second in the series, delivered by the end of the year by the Almaz shipyard.
Like the "Podolsk" of the same project, which was put into operation a little earlier by the Coast Guard of the Border Service of the FSB of the Russian Federation, the "Ufa" has a 30-mm six-barreled artillery installation AK-306 on the bow. The length of the ship is 71 meters, the width is 10.4 meters, and the draft is 3.6 meters.
Like other representatives of the project, the patrol ship is capable of staying in ice for more than twenty days with military personnel on board. It overcomes ice more than half a meter thick. The autonomy of navigation of the "Ufa" is 30 days, the range is 6000 miles, or 9656.06 kilometers.
Project 22120 "Purga" was originally developed by the Petrobalt design bureau under the 2005 order from the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation as a large customs vessel. After four years, the FCS refused to finance it, but the project was suitable for the interests of the Border Service of the FSB of Russia, it was finalized with the support of CJSC "Spetsstroyproekt" and is still being produced with some differences. Like the first lead ship of the project, "Rear Admiral Kolchin E.S.", all ships of the project are built by the shipbuilders of "Almaz."
"Purga" guards the northern Russian borders. According to data from open sources, "Ufa" is based in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in the Pacific Ocean, "Podolsk" is planned to be based in Shikotan in the Kuril Islands.
"Rear Admiral Kolchin E.S.", "Rear Admiral Dianov" and "Admiral Ugryumov" are based in Nevelsk on Sakhalin. Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in Kamchatka became the base for the border patrol ships "Kamchatka", "Zabaykalye" and "Taimyr". "Ladoga" is based in Murmansk, and the only currently unnamed border patrol ship of the PPK-831 project has a base in Nakhodka.
