The "Klimovsk Specialized Cartridge Plant" (KSPZ), owned by two private investors, will be nationalized following an accident at the boiler house located on its territory, which left 173 apartment buildings in Podolsk without heating and hot water. This was announced by the Governor of the Moscow Region, Andrei Vorobyov, emphasizing that this decision was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to him, unqualified personnel worked in the boiler room. Due to improper operation of the equipment, a heating main broke through on January 4. A local emergency situation was introduced in the Klimovsk district of Podolsk.

Investigative authorities have opened a criminal case under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements. The Governor of the Moscow Region asked the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation to petition the court to transfer the boiler house to municipal ownership. But the decision on the fate of the enterprise was made at the highest level.

The plant in Klimovsk appeared in 1936. Cartridges for the Kalashnikov assault rifle were produced here, as well as two-bridge squibs, which were used in the Soviet space industry. Now the company produces hunting cartridges, pneumatic bullets and weapons.

Updated.

Rostec, which unites about 90% of ammunition factories, is ready to take control of KSPZ. At the same time, part of the shares of the Klimovsk enterprise already belong to the state corporation. The management of Rostec has already submitted an appeal for the nationalization of KSPZ to Putin.
