Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced the opening of the third electric depot for the Big Circle Line (BCL) — "Aminyevskoye." Thus, the authorities have completed the construction of the infrastructure of the world's largest metro ring.
The "Aminyevskoye" depot was built in the west of Moscow. Thanks to its launch, the number of trains on the main section of the BCL will increase by 25% and the waiting time will be reduced.
According to the press service of the Mayor of Moscow, the depot is equipped with stationary upper platforms for servicing air conditioning units of cars, installations for automatic disinfection and sterilization of cabins. Comfortable rest conditions have been created for workers.
Prior to this, the "Nizhegorodskoye" depot was built on the BCL, and the "Zamskvoretskoye" depot was reconstructed. Together with the "Aminyevskoye" depot, they will be able to serve about 100 trains.
In 2024, the launch of new "Moscow-2020" cars is expected in the capital's metro.
