Russian Railways has found contractors for two software import substitution projects. This is confirmed by the "New System-Wide Software" roadmap, approved by the government commission on digital development.
One of the contracts was awarded to the Astra Group, the developer of the Astra Linux operating system. It has been tasked with creating an IT solution for managing the directory service and centralized administration.
The second order was given to Positive Technologies, a Moscow-based company that has been sanctioned by the United States and the European Union. Its employees will be involved in the development of information security tools. The cost of the contracts is not disclosed.
Previously, Russian Railways stated that foreign software does not affect the operation of Sapsan high-speed trains.
