In 2024, NPP «Geran» plans to begin supplying the Ministry of Defense of Russia with the «Black Widow» machine gun turret. This was announced by the chief designer of the enterprise, Oleg Zhukov.
The research and production enterprise has been operating since 2011 and until February 2022 participated in various projects for civil and military purposes.
Now we are focused on the development and serial production of ground robotic systems (GRTK) that help military personnel perform combat missions
According to him, the developers took into account the experience of Western manufacturers of GRTK, including the USA and Israel. However, now the main «inspiration» for NPP «Geran» is the customer's request.
Using machine vision technologies, the «Black Widow» recognizes enemy manpower and equipment. The operator can be 1.5 km away from the turret, controlling the weapon remotely. The product weighs 15 kg, so even one soldier can transport it to a new position.
Earlier it was reported that the robotic complexes «Miner BR-1» and BRG-1, developed at NPP «Geran», will receive artificial intelligence.
