The validity of driver's licenses will be extended for three years. This applies to licenses that expire in the current year and in 2025. The corresponding decree has been published on the official legal information portal.
The initiative belongs to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia. It is assumed that it will reduce the administrative burden on Russians and representatives of business circles. At the same time, drivers will not need to contact the relevant authorities to replace their licenses.
According to the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Irina Volk, the innovation applies to owners of vehicles who use them for personal purposes, and those who use a car for entrepreneurial activity.
Earlier it was reported that in Russia an IT solution has appeared for scanning and recognizing electronic driver's licenses.
