The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the completion of work to re-equip another regiment of the Yasnensky division of the Strategic Missile Forces with the "Avangard" silo-based missile system.
It is noted that the "Avangard" with a hypersonic warhead "will effectively complement the weapons systems of the Strategic Missile Forces and expand the capabilities of the missile forces group".
For this purpose, the necessary infrastructure was prepared - from the construction of a combat launch complex to places for training duty shifts, performing combat duty and resting personnel.
The intercontinental ballistic missile is loaded into the silo launcher using a hydraulic mechanism of a special transport and loading unit. The most complex technological operations last several hours.
This is not the first operation to re-equip regiments of the Yasnensky missile division with this type of missile in the Orenburg region. In the West, the increase in the number of "Avangards" is regarded as a "chilling threat" capable of overcoming the Earth's atmosphere, against which air defense systems are powerless.
According to the commander of the Strategic Missile Forces, Colonel-General Sergei Karakaev, hypersonic maneuvering warheads, like those of the "Avangard", may be received by mobile complexes of the Russian Strategic Missile Forces. Karakaev noted that such strike assets are best at overcoming various air defense systems.
