By 2028, Russian cosmonauts will have a new pre-launch training site at the Vostochny Cosmodrome. A branch of the Yu.A. Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center, which is part of Roscosmos, will be opened there. It will be useful for launching the Russian Orbital Station and training cosmonauts for it.
The complex will include a residential area: rooms where crews and their support staff will live. An administrative area will also be created, where the complex will be managed, as well as the pre-launch training phase of the crews at the cosmodrome. The project also includes a technical area, which will house garages for equipment. In addition, there is a training area where simulators will be located.
According to Kharlamov, the branch of the CPC at the Vostochny Cosmodrome will include a number of medical simulators: orthostoles, vestibular chairs, medical equipment for physiological monitoring of the health of cosmonauts. A sports complex will also be opened for them.
In addition, the cosmonaut training program will include survival training and simulators for them. They will practice landing and survival in extreme cold conditions in the autumn-winter period. Survival training will be conducted without connection to pre-launch preparation.
