Russia has released the first domestic machines for high-precision ultraviolet laser processing. They are used in the manufacture of any microelectronics and electrical engineering, for example, when working with semiconductors, printed circuit boards, and polymer films.
The machines are handled by the Laser and Equipment Group of Companies - for 25 years it has been developing and producing industrial laser machines for micro- and five-coordinate processing, cutting, welding, surfacing and 3D-growing parts from metal powders for factories in Russia, Belarus and other countries. At the same time, the localization of enterprises in Russia is almost 90 percent.
The first four machines for high-precision ultraviolet laser processing have already been produced. This enterprise alone plans to produce at least 50 of them per year for companies engaged in the production of domestic microelectronics. It is not yet reported whether similar factories will be opened in other cities of Russia.
Prior to this, the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced Russia's entry into the global microelectronics race on a par with China, Japan, and the Netherlands, which produce microchips on their own. In 2024, the country will have the first domestic lithograph for chips with a topology of 350 nanometers, and by 2026 - for chips with a topology of 130 nanometers.
Also, the Russian Beshtau Group of Companies announced the launch in 2024 of a plant for the production of new domestic boards for electronics. It will produce boards of the fourth, fifth and sixth classes of accuracy.
