Fewer traffic jams on "smart intersections" in six years

While the whole world is entrusting affairs to artificial intelligence, in Moscow, it was first entrusted with regulating traffic lights at intersections six years ago. The city's mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, announced this in his Telegram channel.

According to him, AI manages approximately 600 locations. It is focused on the comfort of public transport passengers and pedestrians.

If there are no people, buses, trams, or electric buses nearby, the waiting time for motorists will be reduced, and the green light will turn on faster.

This solution helps cars and public transport travel 25–30% faster during the day, and pedestrians wait for the green light 20–25% faster. In the evening, after rush hour and a decrease in load, the waiting time also becomes shorter.
