This is the third frigate of Project 22350 to have such weapons

The United Shipbuilding Corporation reported on the completion of the factory sea trials and state tests of the frigate "Admiral Golovko" from Project 22350.

"Admiral Golovko" became the third ship of this project. The lead and first serial frigates "Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov" and "Admiral Kasatonov" are already serving in the Northern Fleet<br>

Project 22350 are universal frigates designed for any combat mission: from landing troops to repelling attacks by aircraft and submarines and opening fire on enemy ground targets. The first three frigates of the project have installations for 16 missiles on board, after which the number of missile installations will increase to 24. Then the frigates of the project will become practically the most combat-ready in the world.

Different types of missiles can be launched from frigates: "Caliber", "Onyx", "Answers", and even the latest hypersonic missiles "Zircon".

"Zircons" hit targets on the water and ground targets, and currently have no analogues in the world. This missile has a speed of more than 9 Machs, that is, approximately 11 thousand kilometers per hour, and can hit a target at a distance of up to a thousand kilometers.

In flight, it changes its trajectory horizontally and vertically, and it is virtually impossible to shoot it down. All frigates and corvettes from Russian shipyards will be equipped with such missiles from mid-2023.

"Admiral Golovko" differs from its counterparts in the project in that it is the first to have a power plant of completely domestic production.
