"Uraltransmash" (part of Rostec) has transferred the first "Dovlatov" (71-421R) car in retro style to the government of St. Petersburg. The low-floor tram will be put on the route in the Northern capital of Russia after commissioning, the state corporation's press service reported.
It is noted that car 71-421R must also pass certification tests in St. Petersburg. "Dovlatov" looks vintage on the outside, but very modern on the inside.
The driver will work in an ergonomic cab with good visibility and a convenient arrangement of equipment. The cabin is equipped with seats made of high-quality plastic and textiles.
Prior to this, Rostec presented the Dostoevsky retro car in the city on the Neva. The tram received an automatic braking system and driver condition control. Thanks to the interactive window-screen, passengers will be able to receive information about the route, as well as about the sights of St. Petersburg.
It is known that the design of retro trams was inspired by the technology produced in the fifties. Engineers used many solutions from the Soviet LM-57 "Stilyaga".
