Projects related to unmanned transport are actively developing in Russia, in which drones are used in agriculture. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov at the "Knowledge" marathon.
According to him, Russian engineers are developing and testing autonomous tractors and combine harvesters in the fields. Unmanned vehicles operate on the principle of "precision farming."
Drones apply fertilizers, plant seeds, guided by satellite navigation with an accuracy of up to two centimeters
One of the largest Russian software (SW) developers for the autonomous operation of agricultural machinery is Cognitive Pilot. Its software is installed on combine harvesters and tractors of "Gomselmash", St. Petersburg Tractor Plant (PTZ).
According to a report by the InterAgroTech Association, following the first agricultural company, unmanned vehicles, including Kirovets tractors (manufactured at PTZ), helped farms save about 30% on fertilizers, seeds, and fuel and lubricants.
