460 horsepower and 1 million km lifespan – KamAZ releases new gas engine

It will be installed on the import-substituted "KAMAZ-54901" from the K5 family

KamAZ has unveiled a new Russian "heart" for the updated "KAMAZ-54901" tractor from the K5 family.

This is an inline six-cylinder engine with forced ignition, running on natural gas.

According to the automaker, the engine with a power of 460 horsepower and a torque of 2000 Nm fully complies with the "Euro-5" environmental class.

It is unified in all main components and assemblies with the KAMAZ R6 910 diesel engine, which has already proven itself in operation.

The lifespan of the new R6 gas engine is 1 million km. In terms of fuel economy and service interval, it "is not inferior to the best global counterparts".
