The state corporation "Rostec" brought to the International Aviation and Space Salon Dubai Airshow 2023 in the UAE the upgraded Il-76MD-90A (E). 

The heavy military transport plane was the first of its kind since 1994 that Russia has brought to a foreign exhibition.

At the Dubai Airshow 2023, the plane was not only self-presenting, but also engaged in an unusual business. Its more than 50-meter wings became a shelter from the sun for the exhibition visitors.

In everyday life, the Il-76MD-90A (E) carries cargo: up to 60 tons of cargo for a distance of up to 4 thousand kilometers, up to 20 tons - to 8.5 thousand kilometers.

For military purposes, the Il-76MD-90A (E) is used to transport troops, cargo, military equipment and weapons. Personal staff and cargo, military equipment and weapons are airdropped and landed from it.

For civil purposes, the aircraft transports the wounded and sick, and can also extinguish and localize fires.

The plane, like its previous versions, performs take-off and landing on concrete and unpaved aerodromes. But the Il-76MD-90A (E) has improved accuracy of aircraft guidance and landing, quality of radio communication and a number of other characteristics.
