The new "Lada Vesta NG" from "AvtoVAZ" has not become a super-car with maximum Russian localization.
It turned out that instead of French parts, which were in the "Lada Vesta", the new generation "Lada Vesta NG" has parts from China.
Thus, the automatic transmission with a five-speed manual has been left the same for now. But it is known that it will be replaced by a Chinese CVT, the manufacturer of which is not named.
The replacement means that the "Lada Vesta NG" will have higher efficiency, lower fuel consumption, smoother ride and faster acceleration. But at the same time, the CVT wears out faster than the automatic.
Faster wear is also expected for the brake pads, also from China. Now, due to the change in the design of the front calipers and brake pads, the latter have a larger contact area with the disc.
And the thickness of the brake lining of the "Lada Vesta NG" has become only 6 mm instead of 12 mm for the "Lada Vesta".
The air conditioning compressor in the new product is also Chinese, as are the drives assembled from the Chinese "Shandong HUFS Group".
Chinese localization is also likely in the future for the clutch kit, engine cooling unit and heater unit. They turned out to be from the French company Valeo, which has already left Russia. So these parts will also require either import substitution, which is not yet available, or new partners abroad, the most likely of which is China.
It also turned out that even with the maximum configuration selected, the car enthusiast will have to buy something else himself. The "Lada Vesta NG" Cross version in the maximum Techno configuration for almost 2 million rubles, which was analyzed by auto experts, turned out to be without fog lights and a rear-view camera when purchased. Their purchase cost 13 thousand rubles.
