Employees of the Russian company Kamaz took part in the International Automobile Scientific Forum (MANF-2023). During the presentation, the plant demonstrated a slide with promising vehicles: trucks, buses, drones for cargo transportation.
In the section where electric and hydrogen transport is presented, there was an image of "Moskvich 3e" (Kamaz is a technological partner of the capital's plant - editor's note www1.ru) and another car. The design of the latter car resembles the Chinese electric minivan FAW Bestune NAT.
Moskvich products are called a localized version of the Chinese JAC. "Moskvich 3/3e" and the recently released "Moskvich 6" are Chinese JAC JS4 (Sexol X4) and JAC Sehol A5, respectively. And the future "Moskvich 5", which was shown by Kamaz in July, is a rebranding of the JAC Sehol X6. And this is a fairly new model: the crossover was released in China in 2022. It is possible that FAW cars will now be produced under the Russian brand. It is not yet clear what serial number will be given to the next Chinese migrant at the Moskvich plant.
Bestune NAT cannot be considered an absolute novelty. It debuted on the Chinese market two years ago. In China, this model is mainly offered to corporate clients, in particular, taxi services. Moskvich cars are already in great demand among taxis and car sharing, so NAT may find its niche in our country as well.
Dimensions of the electric minivan: 4450 x 1840 x 1680 mm with a wheelbase of 2850 mm. It is powered by an electric motor with a capacity of 136 hp. There are two battery options: 53 and 55 kWh. According to the NEDC cycle, Bestune NAT can travel from 401 to 419 km. There is a sliding door for passengers. And in front of the driver there is a 10-inch touch screen and a digital instrument panel.
FAW Bestune NAT has already been of interest in Russia. The Alfatech holding was considering the possibility of assembling a minivan in Engels. It was planned that the car would be produced under the Alfarus name at the production facilities of RosBytKhim. However, the project failed to be implemented due to funding problems.
It was previously reported that the new Moskvich 6 has arrived at dealerships and is available for purchase in Moscow. Soon the cars will appear in St. Petersburg and other regions of the country.
