AvtoVAZ shared the features of the Lada Granta Sport and Lada Vesta Sportline, recently presented to car enthusiasts. Both cars were declared as having an enhanced engine, now it is clear what their secret is.
Both of them received a new VAZ-21127-95 engine with a volume of 1.6 liters and a power of 118 hp under the hood. It meets the requirements of the Euro-2 standard and is designed to be refueled with AI-95 gasoline.
The engine differs from its predecessors in a number of parameters. This is a new intake module, where air is taken in immediately behind the radiator grille – it is 15% more efficient.
It comes with new injectors that are 38% more productive, and new camshafts, where the intake valve lift is 1.95 mm more, and the exhaust valve lift is 1.55 mm more. This improves cylinder filling, reduces air flow resistance and increases engine power.
The exhaust system has also changed: it is a straight-through system with a split muffler. At the same time, the diameter of the exhaust pipe has been increased from 43 mm to 51 mm.
Another innovation is the increase in maximum speed to 6900 rpm. Therefore, Lada Granta Sport can accelerate to 100 km/h in second gear.
Earlier it became known that in the near future MEPhI will help AvtoVAZ develop electronics for cars. Together they plan to design and create multimedia systems, digital instrument panels, as well as develop software for the products of the Russian auto concern.
