SPB Exchange [PJSC "SPB Exchange" is considered the largest organizer of trading in foreign securities in the country - editor's note www1.ru] is ready to start trading cryptocurrency, including Bitcoin, if it is legalized. This was stated by the head of the SPB Exchange, Roman Goryunov.
The head of the company is confident that the world of cryptocurrency will eventually enter the system of traditional financial instruments.
When cryptocurrency is allowed in Russia, we will be the first to trade it
Goryunov recalled that the exchange was ready to launch a platform for cryptocurrency transactions back in 2017. In his opinion, it is better for 10 million investors to trade digital money in the domestic infrastructure than through foreign cryptocurrency exchanges.
In Russia, a law on digital currency, which was recognized as property, came into force at the beginning of 2021. However, neither individuals nor legal entities can use cryptocurrency to pay for goods and services. Foreign financial assets that are not recognized in the Russian Federation are allowed to be purchased only on foreign platforms.
