Goryunov reminded that the exchange was ready to launch a platform for cryptocurrency transactions back in 2017. In his opinion, it is better that 10 million investors will trade digital money in the domestic infrastructure rather than through foreign cryptocurrency exchanges.
In Russia, since the beginning of 2021, the law on digital currency, which has been recognized as property, has come into force. However, neither physical nor legal entities can use cryptocurrency to pay for goods and services. It is allowed to buy foreign financial assets, which are not recognized in the Russian Federation, only on foreign platforms.
