The Ministry of Transport proposes postponing the release of the first modernized Il-114-300 turboprop aircraft due to "force majeure circumstances" and "the impossibility of continuing development work and certification."
As indicated by the ministry in the materials for the draft government decree regarding changes in the timing and cost of supplied aviation equipment, posted by the Ministry of Transport on the Federal Portal of Draft Regulatory Legal Acts, the first deliveries of the Il-114-300 were scheduled to begin in 2024.
PJSC "Il" was supposed to transfer three aircraft to the State Transport Leasing Company, which, in turn, would lease them to the Vologda Aviation Enterprise for passenger transportation.
But now the Ministry of Transport proposes postponing deliveries to 2026 due to the crash of an experienced prototype of the Il-112V light military transport aircraft in Kubinka in August 2021.
The crashed military Il-112V and the future civilian Il-114-30 have the same type of engine — the TV7-117ST developed by ODK-Klimov. It will take time to change the standard design of the Il-114-30, install a new engine, conduct new flight tests, and pass certification.
