Component manufacturers cannot compete with China due to the policies of domestic metallurgical enterprises, which do not want to work with small-batch metal customers. For this reason, bearings in Russia can cost 50% more than in China.
This opinion was expressed by the head of the Board of Directors of Pneumostroymashina, Anatoly Pavlov, during his speech at the Russian agro-technical forum (RAF-2023) in Moscow.
According to him, to produce pistons and connecting rods, Pneumostroymashina needs to purchase 500 kg of metal, but metallurgical plants force the enterprise to make a purchase from 30 t. Sometimes metallurgists agree to sell a small batch of metal, but at twice the price than for a standard batch, Pavlov explained.
He expressed doubt that it is possible to produce 100% domestic components in Russia at the moment. In particular, this applies to the design of assemblies with rubber-technical products, as there is no rubber of suitable quality in the country, the head of the Board of Directors summed up.
